trans* in Greifswald

Dear attendees,

We are here today because there is a deep problem in our society: the ignoring and demonization of trans people. We are being hurt. We are left alone, we are ignored, we are marginalized. There is no place for us in the structures that make up our society.

But ignorance doesn’t just affect us. It’s a symptom of a society that deliberately ignores non-conforming people. Black people, people of colour, people with disabilities, queer people, women, and refugees in particular experience discrimination and violence. Many of us live at the intersections of these oppressions. A Black trans* woman experiences a different kind of violence than a white trans* woman. A trans* person from a poor family faces different obstacles than a financially privileged person. We must see these connections. We must see the intersections.

Trans people experience attacks and hostility every day. Access to medical care is often difficult. Rights are questioned, identities are denied. But we also experience how our stories remain invisible. Our successes, our struggles, our dreams, they are overlooked, ignored.

In particular, people who don’t fit into a binary worldview—non-binary, genderqueer, and agender people—are still overlooked, ignored, and often passed over even within our own community!

We also see intersex people who are still not addressed, both medically and socially. Since 2021, it has been illegal to perform gender reassignment surgery on intersex babies. This is an important step, but it still falls short of human rights standards.

Identities are denied. Needs are downplayed as if they were less valuable. This is unfair, this is insulting, this is an attack on all of us! We say: Stop this!! We see you! We are fighting for you! You belong to us, you are part of this movement, and we will not allow you to remain invisible!

We say: this must end. We demand visibility and justice for all those living on the margins of our society. We demand recognition and respect. We demand that discrimination and violence no longer be trivialized as „isolated incidents,“ but be seen as a systemic problem.

Let’s talk about the people who attack our existence while claiming to „protect children.“ Let’s talk about the inhumane politics and all the movements that demonize us to spread fear. They talk about „gender madness,“ about „early sexualization,“ about „a danger to society.“ But we are not a threat. We are human beings, and we deserve a happy life with dignity!

Hate and dehumanizing rhetoric have now reached the mainstream of society. We must make hate unacceptable again.

Are you angry? You should be! I am! Because this hate speech is dangerous. It isn’t just talk, it is an attack. It legitimizes violence against us; it creates a society in which we are unsafe. This hate speech calls on us to make ourselves invisible, to remain silent, or even worse: to deny our identity.

We say: No! We will not allow ourselves to be attacked, dehumanized! We are here, we exist, we are real, and we will not accept this hate in silence! We will name it, we will expose it, we will fight it – on the streets, in society, in politics!

We demand:

  • Recognition of our identity and our rights.
  • Access to medical care, education, and support without discrimination.
  • Protection from violence in all areas of life.
  • Solidarity across all social movements – against sexism, racism, classism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, and intersex racism.

Are you ready to be visible? Are you ready to fight? We stand here, we shout our truth to the world, we will not allow ourselves to be made invisible anymore! Every voice, every hand, every step counts. Ignorance is violence. We are here, we are visible, and we will never stop fighting!

And at this point, my appeal is also directed at all those who are not directly affected: You are part of this society. Your voice, your solidarity, your commitment are necessary! Fight with us against hate, against incitement, against injustice. Stand by our side. Because the freedom and safety of trans people is the responsibility of all of us.

Humanity means diversity. This includes you, me, and all of us together!

Safety is not a luxury; it is a human right. It means that we are seen, respected, and heard. It means that we have found our place in society.

We stand here together because we believe in a world where no one is invisible or at risk. A world where differences are not threatening, but enriching. A world where justice applies to all.

We are here! Let us be loud and clear so that we can no longer be ignored. We will not stop fighting – for all of us!

Transgirl Antifa

by Lee Anne

Hi, Hello and thank you for the invitation to the organizers of this wonderful pride event! I am Lee or Lee Anne (she/they), 24 years old, transfemme/nonbinary and I am coming from the beautiful Wuppertal to you. Because for resistance and for being loud no way is too far!

My motivation for being here today is to be loud and to be visible! As a person who was not born in our country, as a PoC, as a person that is being read as female, as a queer/trans* person! The title of my speech is “only” a slogan (that maybe we should chant more often) but for me, as for many others, it is lived normality. An important role model for me, for example, is a co-founder of the pride movement, who was, like me, a person of color and tans feminine! The name of this wonderful human is Marsha P. Johnson, and she showed us what pride should be like. Not big, shiny, colorful, crowded and sponsored by various shitty companies, but small, local, antifascist and with the potential for new riots!

And well sometimes stones will fly? So what? If we will have to defend ourselves again, I will not hesitate, my dears. Queer life is and has always been a fight and an uprising against pigeonholing and right/conservative bullshit.

Something that also angers, or concerns me about the big prides is that typical picture of a queer white cis person holding a glass of champagne with glitter on their snout and a fan in hand, that is being pushed in the foreground. Marginalized people, that want to break free of norms, no matter in which way, are kept out. These people can get their representation, like me today, at small prides, where I get to be a great example.

Pride has to be loud, antifascist, combative, unbecoming, alternative, inclusive for everyone, without machos or other problematic people! Without party politics or links to nationalism!

Get organized, build relational groups and supportive networks in MV, continue exactly like you did here! There is no quiet hinterland! Coming from a big city and from NRW, the area with the most inhabitants, I have it easier in that regard. And that is why I am here and am talking in your city today! Support for small prides and antifa structures shall never diminish!

THERE! IS! NO! QUIET! HINTERLAND! (shout slogan)

Thank you to the organizers that invited me and thanks to you all for being here today! And being loud! As you should be!

Ciao Ciao and a nice radical pride to everyone!

Plattenbau Neubrandenburg

100km to the west is the next major city in MV, 50km to the east is the border to the Poland. On the 11th of June, 2005 in the heart of Poland, queers wanted to bloom the world in all the pretty colors. However, PiS declared them a threat to the societal peace and banned their march, breaking their own laws, hoping to score in the next the presidiental election. Despite that, despite stone-throwing PiS Youth, over 2 thousand queers took back Warsaw’s Streets. So… Who’s the threat?

The fight didn’t end, PiS plagued all over poland with Anti-Queer Zones, and even this fight they lost, as this year the last town met queer liberation!

And Meanwhile, around 10 years later, the halls of power in Schwerin had euros in their eyes – they would again strike another deal, over 7 billion euros, for a gas pipeline, with an imperalist regime attacking queers in russia and beyond. So… Who do we trust with our rights?

On the 28th of June, 2024, almost 20 years later, german uniformed male-pattern baldness swooped in to deport our friend Maja to another european queer hell-hole. They absolutly knew that the ruling was on the way, they absolutly knew that time wasn’t on their side! And at 10am, when Maja was being smuggled across the border into Hungary, THEY HAD FULLY KNOWN HOURS PRIOR THAT THEY BROKE THEIR OWN LAWS!

Whether the AfD parties in Putin’s castles, Hooligan Fascist Naworcki shakes hands with Luney Fascist Trump or any other constellation, they work together because they know it works. Fascists, rightwingers and those who have no particular interest in ending capitalist exploitation want to lock us up in so-called national borders and social contructs, sort us out and hunt us down. The afformentioned don’t want us to unite, because they know that solidarity is their downfall.

Friends, we can realistically say that in fives years, we won’t be able to take any action anymore… if we don’t take it now! Friends, look around, look deep inside yourselves, some of us have certain privileges while others have certain other privileges. Friends, let’s add up. The burning passion for queer liberation is in your hand!

We have to take very concrete measures, if we want to secure our existence and liberty, if we want to bring on justice in this world. We are geographically very fortunately situated between west and east as well as Scandinavia, where rightwingers are also on the rise. Berlin and its protest camps are a ride away but reward us with new allies abroad, historic ties and international organizations are also exhaustable. Allies in Poland are explicitly capable, they know how it is to fight for their queer existence against nazis and right-wingers in control of the state.

Behind every successful action is a steady base. Therefore is Security and financial self-sufficiency key for the coming future. Every KüFa und VoKü that brings people together matters, anyone volunteering for awareness helps their fellow humans land safely. All the little acts that keep us going matter! You all matter. Friends await you.

My friends, we are very lucky in comparison to the generations before us technologically. The movements around the globe need our voices in our languages on our platforms. Information is at our fingertips, show up to their rallies, let friendships for queer liberation, and beyond, form!

Siamo tutti! Frau, Leben, Freiheit.

Speech by Faultier

Dear all,

the Alternative Pride in Greifswald takes place today. A time, in which our queer rights are getting restricted while the public discourse is dominated by right-wing extremist agitation. Nationwide CSD (Christopher Street Day) pride events, especially in smaller towns, are getting attacked by neo-Nazis. At the same time CSD pride events and pride month in bigger cities as well as online on social media have been occupied by big capitalistic corporations. On top of that, the police as well as the military (Bundeswehr) have been present at various CSD prides. How little desire we have for authoritarian institutions who – in the case of the Bundeswehr – actively support the genocide in Gaza, goes without saying.

Us queer people here in Germany get to experience the patriarchal structures shaped by toxic masculinity every day. People with traits deemed not „male“, „strong“ and „normal enough“ get discriminated by a growing part of society. Us trans* people are repeatedly subjected to structural, institutional and physical violence. I myself am being subjected to it every day – be it only through insults. Anti-queer insults aren’t just insults against an individual. They go against a whole group of people, whose way of living stray away from a heteronormative majority society.

Currently more than 50% of German votes go to parties (namely AfD and CDU) that make deeply anti-queer politics! In their election program, the CDU for example has established that they want to abolish the self-determination law, which has merely been a first step in the right direction for us trans* people anyway. According to them especially underage trans* identifying people would not be able to change their gender marker without evaluation. Gender-neutral language should be banned in state-public institutions while they explicitly referring to the term „gender-ideology“.

Furthermore, Friedrich Merz has repeatedly made homophobic remarks in the public. And that that guy is „our“ chancellor now!

Thus, the Union (CDU/CSU) has many parallels to the AfD, who also want to abolish same-sex marriage. I probably don’t need to mention here how often they have already attracted attention with queer-hostile and reactionary shit!

The situation abroad is no better either. In the UK trans* people can’t even use gender-specific safe spaces anymore, whereas we live in a world where public restrooms are mostly specifically men or women only with no options for people outside the binary.

In the meantime, more and more pressure is being exerted to ensure that their existence is also completely legally denied. By the way, this is also thanks to the influence of a certain J.K. Rowling. At this point: TERFs piss off, you’re not feminists!

Of course, we also need to take a look at the USA, because there we trans* people are now officially terrorists. So how much it’s criminalized I don’t really need to explain either.

This political climate led to more attacks on pride demonstrations nationwide by ever stronger feeling fascist assholes. Be it in Winsen, Wismar, Bautzen, but also in bigger cities like Leipzig and Berlin. This year organizers in Gelsenkirchen have already cancelled their CSD pride, because they feared for the safety of their attendants. There have also been neo-Nazi attacks in Neumünster, Walsrode and Grevesmühlen this year. In Bad Freienwalde, in response to an attack, mayor Ralf Lehman of the CDU commented that the neo-Nazi shouldn’t have attacked that attendant, but also said that the anti-fascists shouldn’t have defended the attendant either.

These are conditions that shouldn’t be! That’s why it’s important for us to use our biggest weapon: solidarity! Go to CSD prides in cities, but above all also support prides in rural areas!

Because just as our comrades in New York did on the night of June 27-28, 1969, we still have to fight for equal rights. Simply because of the threat posed by Nazis and their partisan arms and the appropriation of capitalist companies and parties. Whether you are affected yourself or an ally, we need each other in these times!

Stonewall was a riot, not a party! Alerta! Alerta! Queerfeminista!

Pride Greifswald

by evan

Sometimes I lie awake at night, wondering. Worrying. To be honest, not just sometimes. Especially now. In addition to my own problems, the world is also going to shit. I think we all know the feeling: injustice is happening everywhere, and all we can do is watch. We’re stuck being spectators, glued to our phone screens. We want to show solidarity with all oppressed people, but between wage labor, care work, and doomscrolling, we can never quite meet out own expectations. Being stuck between “self-care” and “just getting by” while trying to save the world on the side is perhaps a bit ambitious. But maybe it doesn’t have to be the whole world. Maybe a small part is enough. And every day there are small worlds we can save. We can educate and warn, share what we can share, and take care of our friends and our community. “Be the change you want to see in the world” won’t save the world. But it will get us through hard times. And it might make other people’s lives a little bit better. And maybe that’s what we all need, as we feel trapped between Instagram sharepics with bad news and livestreamed human rights violations: a little self-actualization. Changing things. Joining an organization, helping each other. And above all: looking out for each other. Between police violence and fascist thugs, we only have each other. And it becomes clearer each day: if you are serious about practicing anti-fascism, you cannot rely on the state. Our rights are constantly being violated and stripped away, demonstrations are being violently “broken up,” Nazis can rely on police protection, and CSD and Pride marches are left to fend for themselves despite facing threats. Whether in Greifswald or even in the smallest village: Antifa is DIY! Take care of yourselves and each other. Stay strong.

Role Model

by Anna

we live in a loud world
where persons cling to structures
big small beautiful ugly
clever dumb female male
everything is separated into shapes and colours

who may wear lace, a skirt, pink or blue?
since your small heart beat in my body
everyone asks „what will it be?“
the answer „child“ is not enough for many
but it was always clear: „all is good if it is complete and healthy!“
not for grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle…
they say „we’ll see it in the delivery room!“

is that so?

do ultrasound and sex give away
if you’re sporty, delicate, or find your way around binary drawers?

no matter what pronoun or how you’re apparently perceived
where you feel or place yourself
you are first of all human, special and individual,
your soul is colourful and layered
whoever sorts you wrong
hasn’t filed their personality enough
no matter what or who you want to be
you guide the brush for this painting

your fight against this system started on day one
and you ask „when comes the day when I like myself?“
for your birthday it’s always horse stuff, dresses, and glitter
you share it with your brother, others joke and chatter
but why? who decides what’s for boys or for girls?
who decides if you are right?
who plays with cars or with dolls?
right from the beginning you aimed at what you like

in kindergarden it was „a phase … it’ll grow out“
„adorable, such a child … kind of“
oh, the child is rather in the sandpit than with the wild ones…
well, it’ll surely grow out of it…
back then evenings were already tear-soaked, grief and worries came with
put on an act for the others, out-smarted the system.

you grew, put so much hope into school
said „there I will find friends that I deserve so much!“
what you found were changing rooms separated into boys and girls
I don’t understand who thinks, this will grow a healthy soul

no matter what pronoun or how you’re apparently perceived
where you feel or place yourself
you are first of all human, special and individual,
your soul is colourful and layered
whoever sorts you wrong
hasn’t filed their personality enough
no matter what or who you want to be
you guide the brush for this painting

we always have to fit into guidelines,
which thanks to you and your strength we hate more and more
you show me that it is not about fitting into an ideal,
you show me that adults start breaking kids way too early
you grow, you change
hair shorter, clothes baggier, break up clichés
some are bothered by this
but why?
in your heart you are always yourself
no matter how much you question

i don’t know anyone this brave,
who just keeps everything in
just carries all the shit
whose heart beats so sincerely
every day i learn again that you are my biggest role model
give me hope, even when the view is dismal

no matter what pronoun or how you’re apparently perceived
where you feel or place yourself
you are first of all human, special and individual,
your soul is colourful and layered
whoever sorts you wrong
hasn’t filed their personality enough
no matter what or who you want to be
you guide the brush for this painting

when I see your eyes
I know, we don’t even need much
as long as there’s people like you,
as long as we fight for what we love

I don’t want to stand here telling people who you are and what makes you you
I want to thank you, because due to you so much in me awakes
I don’t need to explain feminism and equality to you
you live them naturally, fight in sad times

even when I don’t tell you enough how proud of you I am
I see your strength, for everyone around you, you’re a win
believe me, I want to be there for you more
want to protect you from every little danger
you stand up to each and every monster
more independent with every decision
I don’t know how you do it,
build up others besides yourself, how you carry it all

no matter what pronoun or how you’re apparently perceived
where you feel or place yourself
you are first of all human, special and individual,
your soul is colourful and layered
whoever sorts you wrong
hasn’t filed their personality enough
no matter what or who you want to be
you guide the brush for this painting

in conclusion, before you my prognosis for our society was bleak
thought none of my fights had mattered
you stand like the last and are the new generation
with people like you we can manage our future
I want to thank you
for all your critical questions
for all the breaking open of stuck traditions
for all spoken slogans
for your strength in weak moments
for every thinking against the norm
for being everything but well-behaved
for the ability to be your mother
it does not matter whether pink, blue, he, she, they, car, or doll,
you are perfect with every gap, however small
please don’t let anyone call you a sore spot
you are my wonder. period!

Speech by Julia

Dear siblings, friends, comrades, I am trans, queer, and antifascist.

There once was a CSD, a place where queer people, young people, people especially in need of protection, have a place in which they can celebrate who they are, where they can feel safe. A place in which you don’t feel like scrutinizing every person you come across in the streets, considering whether you should drop your partner’s hand or not.

And now this – Fascists (rightwing extremists, violent and deadly individuals) lining the street, calling for counter-protests, threatening violence, and sowing hate.
We cannot let CSDs slip into becoming absurd show-stages for companies and politicians to polish their images while turning blind eyes to reality. A few gay men talking about how great they are while silencing trans people, progressive politicians posing with ally-flags – just so nobody would get the idea they could be gay – and then turning around and enacting inhumane policies the next day.

It is not just about queerness, but about escape, about poverty, about all of us!
Pride is not just for white middle-class men and women!
Pride cannot be a privilege!

We are standing here, a mixed bunch, come from afar, partially queer, partially not. We are here, because being queer, and that visibly, cannot be a privilege. Not in Greifswald, not anywhere else in MV, nowhere in general.
Something that is often forgotten is this: The first books publicly burned by Hitler’s fascism came from the archives of the Institute for Sexology, the first institute including queerness and transgender studies. Historically, trans identities have been denied, oppressed, swept under the rug.
Even today America’s neoliberal fascism denies trans people’s existence; and follows it up by deporting migrants. AfD and CDU are copy-pasting this Trumpism and go on networking happily with its supporters such as Peter Thiel.

But why are trans people perceived as such a danger for established systems of power, to be one of the first groups targeted by fascists? Why are rightwing extremists and neoliberals so very interested in keeping us out of the public and covering up our history? Why are we the talking-points of the rightwing, while it is their policy to let people drown at borders, let children live in poverty, and to exploit every one of us day in, day out?
Because it is a distraction. It distracts from the reality that people’s lives are shit! I agree that a lot of it is crap, and it is much easier to just accredit it to some minority which is too non-German and gaying up our society.

Capitalism is based on exploitation and inhumane hierarchies in every situation, whether at work or at home. The ruler of the home is simply the man, what are we going to do when this idea starts to crumble through queerness. When the concept of gender turns out to be changeable, or people exist outside of it. This is where it becomes visible that it is nonsense, made up, and should be overthrown.
The oppression of FLINTA* people is our class-society’s foundation, the mortar keeping this construct together. We are the flood that will tear down this house, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but one day.
And then there’s the ones not openly opposing CSDs. However, we can see political parties portraying themselves as progressive and allies, showing up at CSDs, such as the SPD, while carrying regressive political developments.
I am keeping my eyes peeled for the changes the CDU aims at applying to the SBGG (law regarding self-determination of legal designation), a list of trans persons, which is such a calming thought considering police still in service despite having been proven to access personal data of political opponents, as well as the lack of consequences for the Nordkreuzkomplex (German rightwing extremist group). One can imagine it to be only a matter of time until such a list with names and addresses is published, and what kind of violence would follow.
I am curious, really curious, to see whether the SPD supports this decision. Looking at our federal state I am curious as well to find out whether SPD and Die Linke will vote against this inhumane policy.
I hope we will get more political support, but at the end of the day I believe we will have to fend for ourselves. We have to protect our own events from Nazis and have to organize our own medical care outside of the health system.
The most important thing is community. Form gangs, find allies, and build structures to take care of each other. Care due to being affected, or due to solidarity.
You cannot drive us away, not from public, and not from life. Resistance against invisibility is visibility! Resistance against loneliness is community! Resistance is all our fortune!

We’re being told that being queer, being trans, is so horrible and a life full of suffering awaits us. You, and I don’t just mean the fascists, you talk about suicide, surgeries, self-deprecation. Your language is filled with violence, but that is not our life. We don’t feel bad because we are trans, but because of your changed perceptions of us when you learn we are trans. Being trans also means my parents watching talk shows about it which compel them to worry about what might happen to me when I walk home alone. But I am not only trans.
Being trans is so different to how it is often seen, oftentimes it really is happiness – trans joy:
Trans joy is unrelentingly revolutionary and lives on no matter what the world tries to put in our heads.
Trans joy is the small-town with rainbow pyro, the spontaneous meet-up in a café, the patch-crafting in the afternoon, and the spontaneous haircut with kitchen scissors.
Trans joy is meeting for lunch in a different city and then staying until midnight and sleeping on a couch, despite the ridiculously early university classes the next morning.
Trans joy is the people who showed me who I can be. Trans joy is in the fight for our rights.
Trans joy is also standing here, or unfortunately not.
But trans joy is also just ordinary, we are just humans, no matter how often we are just numbers, statistics, and headlines. No matter how much you try to keep us out of the public, we’re coming back. Queerness has existed forever and we are staying, because we are bigger and older than your country, your people, and your God!

This world is filled with beauty and I won’t let anybody tell me I’m not worth living in it!

Speech by Juliana

Hi, I’m Juliana from Selbstbestimmung Selbst Gemacht (Self-Made Self-Determination ) in Berlin. Feel free to check out what we are up to on Instagram, @buendnis.selbstbestimmung, or at queerokratia.de.

For many, the Self-Determination Act brings practical relief when it comes to changing names and registered gender and ending humiliating and expensive compulsory assessments. At the same time, it also establishes, for example, a military gender that can be separated from the rest of the gender under certain circumstances, for example, to draft trans women into the German Army. It contains a similar measure for the complete revocation of the change if the state wants to deport someone. In this case, even a probable change “solely to thwart deportation,” to quote the explanatory memorandum to the law, is to be presumed.

The current Minister of the Interior, Dobrindt, is exploiting another alleged necessity that was originally established in the Self-Determination Act: the transfer of data to all so-called security authorities of the German state. This was also included in the cabinet draft of the traffic light coalition, but was removed shortly before it was passed. Dobrindt now wants to introduce this in a stricter version. Quote from the draft: “For this purpose, three new data sheets on the previous gender entry will be included in the data record for the registration system, which will store the gender entry prior to the change in accordance with § 2 SBGG, the date of the change
of the gender entry, the authority that made the change to the gender entry, and the file number.” The Self-Determination Act itself, which in my opinion is the most reactionary self-ID law of all time and in all countries, passed under the last government, and, as expected, the tightening of the proposed adjustments is coming from the current, more right-wing government. The development in this direction can therefore be seen as a collaborative effort by the SPD, FDP, Greens, and Union. Naturally, with lively uptake of content pushed by the AfD.

Two weeks ago, Roderich Kiesewetter of the CDU called for a Spannungsfall (state of tension) to be declared due to the suspected flying of drones over Scandinavian airports. Of course, this does not mean that this will actually happen soon; it must be decided by a large majority in the Bundestag and Bundesrat. But even a so-called state of tension, the preliminary stage of a state of defense that does not require an attack on Germany, would mean the reinstatement of compulsory military service. And the application of the military gender paragraph in the Self-Determination Act. This, in turn, could mean that a person who registers a change away from the gender entry “male” could still be affected if a state of tension is declared more than six months later. In civil terms, the gender entry would then be ‘female’ or “diverse.” But in military
terms, the person would continue to be listed as male, as a redeemable ticket to be drafted into the armed forces in the event of an urgent need for human resources. Using the QR code on the flyers provided, you can watch a short play by our group about such a possible application.

This speech is meant to highlight continuities. The Self-Determination Act, or what the traffic light coalition has twisted it into, is a template for hitting harder. Of course, Die Union wants to make things worse and is in the process of doing so. And of course, it is good, in the sense that it is perhaps useful, that the Greens in opposition condemn Dobrindt’s plans. Nevertheless, we should not forget that both Tessa Ganserer and Sven Lehmann publicly justified the transfer of data when it was to be included in the Self-Determination Act. Or take note of it now, if we didn’t know it before. None of these parties will fight for queer interests or queer lives when it becomes really risky to do so. Especially not for trans interests and trans lives. The lack of resistance, even collaboration, among Democrats in the US with the transphobic crackdown by the fascist Trump regime is a good indication of this. But I want to end on a funny note: Friedrich Merz is apparently skipping the weekly transphobia workshops at the Konrad Adenauer House. Listen to this: https://www.focus.de/politik/im-focus-online-talk-mit-tijen-onaran-14-jaehrige-die-ihr-geschlecht-einfach-wechseln-merz-will-das-sofort-aendern_id_260709830.html

1 ½ minutes of delay rattling off familiar talking points, then repeating “think about the kids” for 30 seconds. Yes, the guy is dangerous, yes, his party is dangerous, but he’s also a complete chump when it comes to anti-trans agitation. Even effective demagoguery has to be learned, and while he’s good at it in many areas, he’s clearly not here. Does that say anything particularly important? No, but it’s entertaining and a little satisfying, and why not end on that note?

Thank you very much!

Lobbi M-V

Dear queers and allies,

Today, I am speaking on behalf of LOBBI M-V, the specialised counselling organisation for victims of right-wing, racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic, transphobic and anti-feminist violence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Since 2001, we have been providing professional counselling to victims of these crimes, assisting them in finding and financing lawyers and court-admissible expert opinions, accompanying them to police interviews, doctors, forensic medicine and authorities, conduct psychoeducational or relieving consultations with victims, witnesses and relatives, help in the search for medical specialists and psychotherapists, and assist in applying for support and compensation benefits.

We remain at the side of victims for as long as they wish and accompany pending court proceedings through all instances.

Our counselling is partisan, low-barrier, independent, intersectional, mandate-oriented, naturally confidential and, if desired, anonymous – filing a criminal complaint with the police is not a requirement for our counselling.

In addition, we record all attacks and threats that we learn about in order to compare them with police statistics on politically motivated violence from the right wing and with other specialist counselling centres at the federal level, and to be able to provide a reliable, differentiated overall picture of the situation of those affected nationwide.

However, we always assume that there is a relatively large number of unreported cases, as we can only count and record incidents that we learn about in some way and that we can verify.

For this work, we rely on information and reports from our networks: if you experience a right-wing attack or learn of a racist or queerphobic attack, refer the victims to us, report the incident via our website lobbi-mv.de or contact us directly. Even if you are not entirely sure – when in doubt, any information is helpful.

On the occasion of this Pride, I would like to talk specifically about violence and threats against queer people, activists and solidarity structures in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In 2024, LOBBI recorded a total of 150 right-wing attacks involving 211 victims by March 2025. As in every year, there were also more than 20 late reports of attacks in 2024, which could no longer be included in the statistics due to the closing date.

Of the 150 attacks last year, we recorded 10 attacks against queer people or individuals and institutions that explicitly showed solidarity with queer people and advocated for their rights. At the federal level, this accounts for about 10% of incidents in this category.

Some of these cases have become known nationwide, while others are only discussed very locally or not at all. It is very striking that people who are attacked because of their sexual or gender identity are most often affected by massive property damage, for example arson in their residential or business environment or at places of political organisation, in about 30% of cases. LOBBI counts these offences as right-wing violence because, from the perspective of those affected, they can have a massive impact on the personal sense of security of the individuals involved as well as the entire community. Questioning one’s personal safety in one’s own living environment is sometimes more difficult to cope with than an experience in an anonymous public place and has an impact on the atmosphere and political participation in a region.

The second most common type of offence against queer people or allies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is threats or coercion, with physical assault occurring in a further 30% of recorded cases.
A similar distribution of offence types can be observed in the actions of right-wing actors against political opponents.
This shows a clear difference to crimes with a racist background, 80% of which involve physical assault.

These numbers make it clear that right-wing and queerphobic actors are increasingly relying on intimidation and threats to limit queer visibility and the struggle of queer and feminist communities for equal rights and self-determination.

Over the past two years, we have seen how often very young neo-Nazis and new and old right-wing structures have taken massive action against the political LGBTIQ+ movement, to the extent that some CSDs could only be held with considerable police protection.

In view of current political developments and societal backlash, it is all the more important to make these tendencies visible, to name the perpetrators and their structures, and to practise solidarity: solidarity between urban and rural areas, between different generations, and also between different emancipatory movements.
We are pleased to see this demonstration as a sign of queer-feminist political activism in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and wish you all a great Pride, with plenty of opportunities for networking and mutual support.

And finally, I would like to repeat our request: report right-wing attacks, regardless of whether you are the victim or a witness, and regardless of whether the incident has been reported to the police or you need advice. Your report may help victims and, not least, help us to show the realities of those affected by right-wing, racist, queerphobic and anti-Semitic violence and thus inform the public about what is happening.

TIN* Beratungsstelle MV

Dearest queers, dear allies,

I am spreaking today on behalf of TIN* Beratungsstelle MV. We have recently started offering counseling on trans*, inter* and non-binary issues in person in Greifswald, online and by phone.

Our long-term goal is to create a comprehensive, accessible and low-threshold counseling service for the entire state.

In our work, we repeatedly encounter structural challenges that have a profound impact on the lives of TIN* people in MV.

We are currently experiencing a massive increase in TIN* and queer-hostile violence. At the same time, political debates, such as those on the Selbstbestimmungsgesetz and the introduction of a special register, show how much influence right-wing ideologies have gained. Especially with a view to the 2026 state elections, many people seeking advice and queer activists feel that these developments are placing an enormous psychological strain on them.

The medical and psychotherapeutic care situation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is more strained than ever. People seeking advice repeatedly report months of often fruitless searches for psychotherapists who work in a tin* and queer-sensitive manner. In some cases, tin* people wait over a year for a therapy place. These waiting times are unreasonable. Mental stability is a prerequisite for health insurance companies to cover the costs of gender reassignment surgery. This is a vicious cycle: the system demands stability, but takes away the structures that could enable stability in the first place.

There is also a wide gap between expectations and reality in education and anti-discrimination work. Training courses, project days, and education play a crucial role in breaking down prejudices. But demand far exceeds the available resources. Queer counseling centers and self-advocacy groups fear for their existence. Most structures are run on a voluntary basis, and the few full-time positions live in constant uncertainty as to whether their funding will continue. What we need is finally long-term funding prospects, not a project logic that calls our work into question every year.

At the same time, more and more queer safe spaces are disappearing. Meeting places are closing, spaces are being lost, structures are crumbling. Yet we all know that these places are vital for survival. They are places to catch our breath, find solidarity, and feel safe.
We also want safe spaces where the perspectives of TIN* people who experience multiple discrimination are not forgotten. Disabled TIN* people, TIN* BiPoC, and refugee TIN* people, for example, often experience discrimination or barriers even in queer spaces. It is our responsibility to change this and create structures in which TIN* people who experience multiple discrimination can feel safe and be active.

A few meters from here is Pari. The plan is to create a space where marginalized people in particular can feel safe, meet others, and actively participate in shaping the community. Before that can happen, there is still some construction work to be done. If you want to and are able to help, come by. Get involved. Help build a piece of queer future.

Roter Hafen

Hello everyone,

It’s so wonderful to be here with you today. So many faces, so many voices, so many stories. And yet today we stand as one: a community that comes together to be visible, to uplift each other, and to celebrate our and each others existence.

For many of us, queer life means constantly facing repression and hostility. Many of us experience rejection and intolerance from our families, at work, or in the streets. But what keeps us going, what makes us strong, is exactly what we can see today: community. Support. The knowledge that we are not alone. That we are there for each other.

Every person, every queer person, has the right to feel safe and taken care of/in good hands. Since we know it’s still rare in society, we create our own spaces. Spaces where we listen to each other, support each other, and remind each other: You’re perfect just the way you are.

Our community’s strength lies in organizing, in forming groups that stand up for each other. Whether it’s small circles of friends, local initiatives, or large networks, all of these are spaces where solidarity becomes reality. We learn from each other, we encourage each other, and we create communities and groups, which support us when the world outside appears hostile.

And that is precisely why it’s so important to not view these groups as insignificant, but rather as the foundation of a society based on solidarity. Because what we practice on a small scale—being there for one another, sharing, supporting each other— is exactly what the world so desperately needs. It’s what we need to create a society based on solidarity.

Queer rights shouldn’t be taken for granted. They have been fought for, and they must be defended, especially now that they are under attack again in so many countries. Right-wing forces want to divide us and silence us, but we will respond by standing in solidarity with each other.

And that includes thinking beyond capitalism and the system. Because a system that views people only as assets of market value will never lead to true liberation. We are not consumers who can be dismissed with rainbow products in June; we are human beings with rights, with dignity, with dreams. Our future lies in solidarity, not profit. Queer struggles can’t be seperated from anti-capitalism and anti-fascism.

A society that accepts and tolerates queer people and provides free medical care, isn’t possible under capitalism! It can only be guaranteed through socialism, only if we, the workers, pupils, students, and trainees, manage and plan production together, organizing it according to our needs and not according to the profits of the few capitalist elites.

It is not enough just to be “accepted”; we want to live freely, without fear, without oppression.

So let today be a source of hope. Because every group that forms, every voice that is raised, every person who refuses to be silenced brings us closer to a world in which we can live freely, visibly, safely, and in self-determination. Each and every one of us contributes to keeping queer life visible and our community strong.

So feel free to contact us or Pride if you want to get something off the ground, organize something, or just need advice.

Together we are strong. And together we can change everything.

Pali-Soli

Dear friends, dear community,

first of all I would like to thank the organizers of the Alternative Pride for giving Pali-Soli the opportunity to say a couple words to you all. We were founded in an effort to break the silence in Greifswald, to strengthen the resistance here in Greifswald and MV, against the genocide and against the colonization of Palestine. The fact that people took to the streets in such large numbers in Berlin, yesterday and two weeks ago, was fought for. By Palestinians and others, who went out and protested long before this genocide, whose right to protest was trampled, who were sued over and over again, and who were repeatedly beaten up by police. Us standing here today has been fought for as well.

I am standing here as an ally, but the relative degree of freedom in which queer people can live nowadays has been obtained with great efforts by queer people themselves. Stonewall was a riot, no rave, no political party, a riot. Nowadays we see more and more how bourgeois and conservative parties, companies, and states take up Pride for themselves. It is the same forces against whose resistance this visibility was gained, who get into the made bed today and use Pride for their Pinkwashing. This also goes for the liberal left, who understand themselves as progressive, and put up a woke face.
To quote from the track Free Palestine: „Your hypocrisy makes me so aggressive, the entire year you play Woke but don’t have one word for Falastin.“

Israel strategically misuses the queer community as a weapon in its genocide against Palestine. Queer people who protest the genocide and occupation are berated „In Gaza you would be killed“. Meanwhile Israel puts on an act of being particularly progressive. Lies. Equal marriage still does not exist there. The biggest threat for queer people in Gaza is Israeli bombs, not Palestinian queerphobia. Israeli propaganda portraits Palestinians as especially regressive, as Islamist barbarians, who care about nothing but throwing queer people from rooftops and murdering Jews. This is how they justify the genocide. We stand against it.

The oppression of queer people is real and exists everywhere in the world, in Germany and Israel, as well as in Palestine. But it can never be used as justification for a genocide. Queer people have no chance at freedom while they are being starved and bombed. Our fights are connected. The fight for queer liberation is intersectional. It is anti-colonial, anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist, and borderless, it is inseparably connected with the liberation of all people from any kind of oppression.
We are saying loud and clear:

There is no Pride in Apartheid
There is no Pride in Occupation
There is no pride in Genocide.
None of us are free untill all of us are free.
Free Falastin.
